Way of Council
w/ Rob Dreaming Feeling, listening, thinking like a circle sharing stories and more-than-human encounters... Being in dialogue to return in relationship with nature. Not just with each other - human beings - but taking an enquiry, a question, a story out, and spending time in council with nature... Present and with presence in whatever arises, life affirming and informing support for the process. Council is a non-hierarchical and non-violent form of communication, a practice that builds community, a method to support group processes, crises and conflicts Council develops (inter)cultural understanding and inclusion Council can be used in all fields of life: in school, clinics, companies, in teams, in families, in personal partnerships, and in communities. We can use council for decision making, to honour achievement, in conflict management, for reflection, in peace and reconciliation work. We will experience the basic concepts and intentions of Council, different forms such as – the web, spiral, fishbowl, dyadic and dreamstar. We will identify useful practices for self and group facilitation, the role and importance of the witness, explore tools for deep listening, story-telling and look at how to introduce and embed Council as well as the fundamentals of leading/carrying Council as a path for our time together in the next months and beyond |
